Ilaria is a qualified Italian and European Patent Attorney, Certified European Patent Litigator, and since 2025 is based at the Milan office of PGA.

After earning a degree in Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry and a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the Sapienza University of Rome, Ilaria spent five years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Ludwig Maximilians Universität in Munich and at the Politecnico di Milano, focusing on synthetic organic chemistry and nanotechnology.

In 2016, she began her career as a patent attorney at the Milan office of Marchi & Partners, handling all aspects of patent matters in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and biomedical sectors.
Over the course of her professional career, Ilaria has developed extensive technical expertise ranging from organic chemistry to nanotechnology, contrast agents and diagnostic imaging, polymer coatings, pharmaceutical chemistry, and rubber technology.

As a patent attorney, Ilaria has gained significant experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications before the Italian Patent Office and major international patent offices, including the European, Eurasian, U.S., Japanese, Chinese, and Indian patent offices. She also regularly prepares patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions. Additionally, Ilaria has served as a party-appointed technical expert in litigation before various Italian courts and has been involved in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office.
