The opportunity to apply for the SME Fund 2023 is still open for small and medium-sized enterprises based in the European Union. The fund offers refunds of up to 75% of the official application fees for trademarks, designs, patents, and plant varieties, directly credited to the bank account.

Who can participate

The fund is dedicated to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that meet at least two of the following three criteria:

Sole proprietors and self-employed professionals with VAT registration can also participate.

 

Refund values

Trademarks and Designs

– 75% refund of the official application fees for EU trademarks, designs, and models.

– 75% refund of the official application fees for national and regional trademarks, designs, and models.

– 50% refund of the official application fees for trademarks, designs, and models outside the EU.

Maximum refund amount: Euro 1,000.00.

 

Patents

– 75% refund of the official patent pre-grant (filing, search, and examination), grant, and publication fees for national protection in an EU Member State.

– 75% refund of the official filing and search fees for European patents filed at EPO. All other fees for a European patent are excluded.

Maximum refund amount: Euro 1,500.00.

 

Community Plant Variety

– 50% refund of the official online application fee at EU level.

Maximum refund amount: Euro 225.00.

 

Please note that only activities carried out after accessing the fund are eligible for refunds. Therefore, fees related to titles already filed and/or granted are not eligible.
