Emilia is a European and Italian Trademark and Design Attorney and she works in the Lugano PGA office.

After several years of profession as civil and commercial lawyer working in the dispute resolution department of an international law firm, Emilia decided to focus on intellectual property and strengthened her IP knowledge thanks to the specialization course “IP specialist with a focus on the Chinese market” organized by MIP – School of Management of Politecnico di Milano and ICE – Italian Institute for Foreign Trade. As part of this education program, she had the chance to collaborate with a Chinese IP consultancy firm in Beijing, acquiring specific skills related to IP rights management in China.

In the last 10 years, she has worked as a Trademark Attorney with leading IP consulting firms in Italy and Switzerland, acquiring all-round skills in the management of every aspect of the life-cycle of trademark portfolios of many Swiss, Italian and foreign companies active in various fields and in particular in the fashion industry, finance, furniture, cosmetics and exhibition services.

In her career Emilia has developed broad expertise in protection strategies for trademarks and particularly in pre-filing advices, availability searches, trademark filing strategies, prosecution and maintenance of trademarks worldwide. Thanks to her strong legal background, she has become expert in opposition procedures before the Swiss (IGE), Italian (UIBM) and the European Union (EUIPO) Trademark Offices directly and through local agents worldwide.
Last but not least, it should be mentioned that Emilia has also gained specific expertise in the management of complex out-of-court procedures, from the preparation of warning strategies, to negotiations, to the drafting of coexistence agreements, as well as in anti-counterfeiting practices, including the activation and management of customs surveillance.
